If you are like me, you are kicking off 2018 with a set list of goals and resolutions. Between taking on healthy initiatives and booking travel accommodations, you’re on your way to a healthier and happier version of yourself! And kudos to you if you end up lasting longer than a few weeks… But that could mean that while you’re busy making all those other plans and crossing things off your lengthy to-do lists, you’ve forgotten about the mess you’ve left at home. As a first time home buyer, I know what it means to feel completely overwhelmed by the tasks at hand, and keeping your house in tip-top shape is no easy task! So let’s chat about how to de-clutter with a few quick home organization tips and affordable products from Simple Human!
HOME ORGANIZATION TIPS FOR YOUR CABINETS
Clutter doesn’t just appear out of thin air. At one point or another, you carried each of those items in that pileup over your threshold. One becomes two, and two magically multiples, a lot. After only a few months in our new home, our cabinets are already bursting at the seams! While we are thankful to have the additional storage space, the extra cabinets have suddenly become a catch-all for the junk we are frantically trying to hide as guests are coming over! (Don’t judge, you know you do it too! ha) So take advantage of a new year and some down time to empty out your cabinets and start all over! I always separate everything into three piles, which includes must haves, store, and donate. It’s important to store items where you need it for maximum productivity, and to make cooking and baking most comfortable in the kitchen, you want efficiency right? So the same thing applies to your bathroom, closets and office space! The Simple Human pull out cabinet organizer is available in 3 sizes, and glides in and out of your cabinet so you can use all available space with ease. They are a breeze to install and hold up to 20 pounds, so we placed them in our kitchen, master bath, and dry bar cabinets. So talking about efficiency, I now have a place to store all the beauty products I’m sent to try by PR companies!
HOME ORGANIZATION TIPS FOR YOUR BATHROOM
We quickly learned that a bigger shower, or sometimes a walk-in shower, doesn’t always mean more space for his and her toiletries. So why not eliminate fighting over limited shelving space as a new years resolution? Grab a Simple Human shower caddy and organize your shower space with adjustable shelves and innovative storage! We have the XL size in our master bath and are able to slide the wire-frame shelves to make room for tall bottles, and utilize the small compartments for razors, toothbrushes, etc. It easily screws in for tight fit on the top making it solid and secure, and the suction cups add support at the bottom! Ps, it’s made from stainless steel and anodized aluminum, which eliminates the possibility of it rusting over time or causing damage to your shower head or tile area! If the XL isn’t the right fit, consider the corner shower caddy or tension shower caddy.
HOME ORGANIZATION TIPS FOR YOUR GARBAGE DISPOSAL
I never thought I would ever be so excited about a trash can y’all, but I guess that’s what happens when you become an adult, ha! We’ve got a brand new, beautiful kitchen, and finding a sleek, yet functional trash can was a lot more challenging than I thought. I’ve seen the Simple Human versions around town at my favorite local shops, and have admired how they’ve held up in high-traffic environments! We opted for the dual compartment trash can for our kitchen area, which allows one side for trash and one side for easy disposal of recyclables. Between it’s 58 liter size, liner pocket, sleek design that fits flush against the wall or cabinet and silent close feature, what’s not to love? Oh, and the strong steel pedal means you can be hands free! This product actually makes throwing trash away fun, and I never thought I’d say that…
HOME ORGANIZATION TIPS FOR YOUR KITCHEN
As I mentioned before, I 100% believe you should store items where you need them for maximum productivity, especially in the kitchen. But one of Chris’ biggest pet peeves is counter top clutter! Those pull out cabinet organizer‘s shown above really helped us capitalize space in our cabinets, thus freeing up our island. Life before the Simple Human tension arm paper towel holder often meant messy hands reaching for the roll while it would casually fall into the sink. But now our holder gently holds the roll in place so you can tear off one sheet at a time with just one hand, making it as cost efficient as it is easy to use! I also like the idea of mounting one under the cabinet, and the napkin holder has a similar design to it. Sleek and funtional is just how we like it!
