When shopping for workout gear, I focus on finding pieces that are both stylish and functional. While my fitness routine isn’t very high impact, I don’t want to have to replace items after only 2 or 3 wears. At this point you know that I spent a full 8-10 hours a day at the Pure Barre studio. So I’m currently loving the ‘athleisure’ style; allowing me to go from class to errands in just a few seconds flat.
Whether I’m taking a Pure Barre class, or getting some cardio in, my go-to look includes three simple pieces; high waisted pants, a sturdy sports bra and loose fitted top. Let’s praise the Gods for whomever thought it was a great idea to create high waisted yoga pants, because I legit can’t live without them! Whether its the first thing in the morning and I’m feeling super skinny after skipping breakfast (happens all the time…) or feel bloated after the excessive carbs, high waisted yoga pants hug in all the right places. Can I get an amen? While this sports bra isn’t ideal for running, it is perfect for a low impact workout like Pure Barre, while looking super stylish under this open back tank! From a girl who tends to sweat a lot, tanks that aren’t form fitting and made from a dry fit material are in heavy rotation. No one wants to see boob sweat, right?!
I get a lot of questions about my workout routine, and I’ll be honest, there really isn’t a rhyme or reason. I’ve learned to listen to my body and know what it needs, when it needs it. I don’t count macros, probably indulge in way too many french fries and have a serious sweet tooth, but enjoy being active! Last year I enjoyed utilizing Classpass, which allows you to try select classes/ studios up to 3 times a month for one fee. I tried TRX, hot yoga, hardcore pilates, as well as barre classes and cardio. Since becoming a full time Pure Barre instructor, you’ll find me taking 5-6 classes per week (we reccommend at least 3-4) and including some light cardio. I ran my first 10k last April, and sadly haven’t trained/ ran that hard since then! But I’m hoping to challenge myself to get into it over the next few weeks.
I hope you enjoyed this post, its always nice to try something new around this little corner of the web. Let me know if there is any fitness related content you’re looking for! Have a great Wednesday loves.
