I’ve come to realize that no everyone is reaching record breaking temperatures quite like Houston, so I’ve challenged myself to broaden my style to appeal a bigger audience. For those of you who are still transitioning to summer, or experience warm days and cooler nights, this look is for you! It’s simple to remove a layer as the temperature rises, making it much easier and convenient during spring and summer. Taking those light weight layers and transitioning to fall and winter tend to be a little bit more difficult.
If you’ve ever wondered how to layer your outfits, here’s what I’ve learned. Play with texture; it’s best to incorporate a mix of materials when styling a layered look and add your own unique spin on your style! During spring and summer, consider opting for lightweight materials like linen, seersucker, poplin cotton, and chambray, leaving you both cool, yet stylish. If its scorching hot outside, layer your accessories instead of clothes! Add a belt, bandana or opt for a crossbody to add depth and a little more flare to your outfit!
These printed shorts immediately caught my eye with the floral print and intricate lace. Paired with a lightweight racer back tank and an easy going pullover, for a casual and simple look. These pieces add both texture and color variation and affordable as an entire outfit or individually! Keep in mind, layering doesn’t have to be costly or time consuming. I fell in love with these shorts so much, I wanted to share with y’all some of my recent purchases just in time for warmer weather. Take a peek at the round-up below, and happy shopping!
I can already tell you I purchased #2 through #5 and love each of them for different reasons. Whether it’s the length or texture, I’ve had so much fun styling them for upcoming posts. You may recognize #5 styled here! Both #1 and #6 are currently on my wish list!
