Let’s try something new, shall we? I’m typically a last minute packer, not that I tend to procrastinate, but I find it easier to pack as I get ready for a trip, thus lessen my chances of forgetting something! However, I’m going to step out of my comfort zone and challenge my organizational skills as I pack for Charleston, SC.
Odly enough, you might find yourself packing the same amount for a weekend getaway, as you would for a one week trip. Funny how that happens, huh? I have found that most weekend trips involve cramming in as many activities as possible in a short amount of time, a nice little break from reality. In most cases, this causes you to find a reason to bring just about everything you can think of! So here’s how I prepare for a trip, what I pack and I how I make the most of my time and space…
First things first, its important to look and feel your best when you’re planning to travel. What that looks like is different for everyone. For me, I like to cut down on the excessive carbs, increase my workouts if I plan to be in a bathing suit, and make sure that my skin and complexion is up to par! I tend to be an excessive photo taker during trips and those photos will be around for a lifetime, so why not make sure they are memorable?
Don’t let mother nature ruin your plans for vacation, come prepared. Small in size. BIG in impact. You’ll find O.b.® Tampons as the #1 item on my packing list! Everyone’s body is different, so the O.b.® Tampons are designed to stop leaks from happening, by expanding to fit your needs. No matter where you are in your cycle, you can count on O.b.® Tampons to provide the ultimate comfort and protection with SilkTouch™. Small in size, the O.b.® Tampons can fit in your back pocket as your running out to meet friends for dinner, or the pocket of your carry on! But don’t fret, their size doesn’t impact their ability to protect you throughout your cycle!
Whether you’re a fashionista or no-frills traveler, you want to pack items that will fit your own personal style and travel needs. While I already had an entire closet to choose from, I couldn’t stay no to snagging a few new pieces to accompany me to the beautiful city of Chalreston! I spent time checking the weather and creating our itinerary before our trip, so I knew what items I was looking for before browsing some of my favorite retailers. Between Anthropologie and Nordstrom, I found a happy balance between travel and fashion with the selection below! But don’t be afraid to try something new while you travel, whether its a new style, or a new activity you wouldn’t normally go for, traveling is really the time to explore!
Do your homework! Knowing your schedule and the weather conditions will most definitely come in handy. Charleston is known for their beautiful cobblestone streets, so I was opting for comfy wedges, slip on sandals, and cozy flats this time around. When on vacation, I aim for comfort over style as much as possible, but luckily I was able to achieve both this trip with brands like Seychelle’s, Soludo’s and Jeffrey Campbell. Choose 2-4 pairs that will go with multiple outfits, here’s a few I packed…
A well groomed look is an essential accessory for a stylish travel wardrobe, however you don’t need to pack your entire bathroom cabinet to look put together! More often than not you’ll only touch a few select items, and end up taking up both space and weight. Downsize your toiletries and only grab those items you know you’ll need. Think about the 5 minute face post I created here, as well as sunscreen and aloe if you’ll be in the sun!
I’m currently crushing on this Rodial Glamstick in bang and the Tula Urban Defense Hydrating Mist helps reduce inflimation while you’re on the go. The rosewater and probiotics protect your skin from damage and dirt!Make the most of all your space, which includes your carry on bag! Don’t be afraid to invest in great luggage, and travel organizers for jewelry and make-up to maximize space and make sure everything fits! The Bedford Tote was the perfect size to use as a carry on for this trip, which easily stored my laptop, camera, as well as my office supplies needed to continue to work through the weekend. I wanted to make sure I had a large enough beach/ pool tote for the weekend’s activities, so I optimized space by placing shoes, clutches and swimear inside before stuffing it in my large suitcase!
The adorable teal statement necklace is from my friends at Horse Feathers Gifts and my new Sugar Paper Envelope Folder is the perfect size to protect my MacBook Air from any damage during traveling.
I’m sharing #OBelievers in my life as part of an o.b.® sponsored series for Socialstars™ – all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that allow The Styled Fox to operate full time!
